I do not own one but if it is a Savage I am sure it will need trigger work. I wasted 2 years shooting a Savage Striker sport in 22 mag that the trigger was so bad when I shot it with out using sand bags It pulled off so bad acount of the trigger, I finally got fed up and traded it in when I bought my 22Henry Mag which I think is great. Of course a rifle is more steady than a pistol is so it might not be as much as a problem, but most of the post I have read stated that they were not happy with most of the Savage triggers and either had work done on them or replaced them. I have no idea if the 22 line of Savage will have their new trigger or not. Savage guns do shoot great if you can get the triggers done on them. I have read on line that Savage has the worst Rep for triggers. That said I would say go for it if you want, but be prepared to have some trigger work done if you are the fussy type. If not the fussy type  than the gun and trigger should suit you fine. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Two short answers Jim,

Excellent and crunchy, respectively. For the performance I get for $165, I'm not gonna grouse about the trigger. It's accounted for a couplahunnert gophers in the last month and unless it came with a Jewell and a Nightforce scope, it couldn't have done better.

It's not an Anschutz, but how many Anschutzes have you ever found under the truck seat when you needed one? :D

Cheers!

My 93 is a good shooter, I have a 6-24x40 mounted and it touches em' on the target.  The trigger is better than most on the rimfire rifles.  I'm used to mine and have no problem with it.  I got a 220 yd kill on a cottontail, the rabbit hit the ground without a flinch.  The round drops 8 inches at 200 yds if zero is at 100 yds.  It has become my favorite gun to shoot.  It is also explosive on starlings.  I have put around 400 shots through the weapon and  it is a killing machine for what it is intended for which is nothing bigger than prarie dogs.  My buddy has a 17 and he got good kills on dogs in Co. out to 200 yds.  Good luck with it if you invest in one.
