357 Max
« on: September 23, 2006, 02:06:21 PM »
I am going to order some bullets while waiting for the 357 Max to return from the Smith. I was thinking od the 180 Nosler Partition or 170 grain Gold dots. I also ordered some LBT sttle wide Flat Nose Gas checked bullets. What do you users of the Max think of these for deer?
shot placement is everything.

All should work just fine!!  The 270 GD is my all time favorite for the 44 mag and deer. if its little bro in 35 cal is even close to the performance of the 44 it will be great!!

The partition is a partition, just plain good.

The LBT in 35 I have little experience with. but if its cast to the correct hardness it too should put the venison in your freezer for sure!!

Personally, i use the Speer 180 FN. Designed for the 35 Rem. it works fine in the Maxi. the Hornady SSP in 180 is a bit lightly constructed for top velocities out of a rifle bbl.
