Browning B2000

I just traded a guy a used 870 express plus $75.00 for a Browining B2000 that is in about 90% condition. I have been able to find information as to the gun's history, but not much in the way of how they work in the field. Anyone out there hunt with one of these, what do you think of them.

I think I used to have one of those,-slight hump, loaded like a 94 win. It was an ok gun, I just got tired of loading it though the little hole in the side. Also, it had a fixed full choke, not what I wanted. And the bolt release was sharp, after a few rounds of clays,  I was almost bleeding. I ended up trading it for a newer gun of a different brand w/tubes, but I sold that gun also.
If you like it, great.  Shoot it, and enjoy. Personally, I've moved on to other guns. ( Only 2 currently, both citori's), but I'm always looking for something else that I 'need'.

Thanks for your input. I have found out a little more about the gun. That side loading arrangement is supposed to allow a hunter to pull the shell out and replace it with another round and when you work the bolt it is ready to shoot the new round. The give an example of hunting ducks and you see a goose coming in you can change to a different load quickly. I can see that it would be a pain shooting sporting clays. I have a lot of shotguns but thought this was a good trade and didn't know much about the gun. I like the way it handles but the difference between this gun and my Rem 1100 is night and day when it come to taking apart and cleaning, 1100 hands down winner.

Extremely, extremely well-made gas guns, and soft shooting as well. They were expensive 'back in the day,' and were displaced by the much cheaper to make Beretta-made B-80.

I've used a B2000 20 ga. for many years-- that's speed loading, and speed unloading. A great gun that never sold in large enough numbers to stay in the line.
