looking for a 1911 duty holster

Hi guys. This question might already be on here, but to tell you the truth I was just too lazy to look real far back. I'm saving my pennies for a good 1911 to carry as a duty weapon. I've started looking for duty holsters, and found the selection to be pretty slim. Anybody know who makes a good (preferably level 2) 1911 duty holster, made to carry the gun with the hammer cocked? Appreciate any of you guy's help...alan

There's more holsters available for the 1911 than any other gun on the market. I went through the gambet of trying several types. I setteled on an Alessi thumb break, high ride, belt mounted, hip holster. There are several other brands with the same basic style including Safari, Dillon, and Hume..

Here's my criteria: I must be able to draw the gun from most any position. The holster should not limit walking, sitting, driving and even laying down. The holster must have a thumb break strap that interrupts the cocked hammer. The holster must completely cover the trigger and  not interfere with the thumb safety.

Hey, thanks. I'd seen a few models, but some of them looked like they only fit with the hammer down. Is this Alessi a level 1 holster? Who's a good dealer to get one through? Thanks again...alan

When I was allowed to carry my 1911 on duty, I used a Safariland 6280 from www.swatgear.com .
