The innovative labs at Thompson Center have developed the first sabot that can be loaded easily with one hand.

Has anyone tried them?

I have and have had great results with them with the 250 gr. Bonded Shockwave bullet. Very easy to load, even one the 3rd or 4th shot without swabbing between shots.

There are no innovative plastic sabot-making laboratories/factories at T/C Inc.

Try MMP.

I was surprised to learn that in my rifle they shoot as well as the older ones with the black sabot. The older ones took considerably more pressure on the ramrod to load.

dave and Redhawk,
Thanks, I think I will give them a try.  My Knight likes the 250 SST/Shockwave bullets but anything other than the first shot is just about impossible to get down the bore and the first shot is no picnic.  I need more bullets anyway, might as well buy the combo and save the expense of ordering additional sabots from MMP or Harvester.

I have shot about thirty rounds to date. Shot great and load easy, do not know about one handed but much easer than old four petal mmp I a accustomed to. In the past my encore has always shot beter with a tight fit at or around .503 loaded diameter. The new sabot and a 250gr shock wave check in at .501 on my digimatic. I think they are a big improvement same great results with much less effort.

I am getting sub MOA at 100 yards with 120 gr. of loose triple7 and Remington Kleen bore primers with the 250 gr. Bonded Shockwave. I am using them in my New Encore Pro-hunter model.

My Z5 Omega came with 20 of the old black sabots with 250grn shockwaves.  I found no problems with loading them.  All I have loaded in the past few months have been the new yellow superglides or whatever they are called with 250 and 300 grn shockwaves.  They do load easily and shoot quite well with the 250grn.  Keep in mind that I have not loaded any other sabots in the above mentioned rifle so I really can't compare them to other sabots as some of the seasoned folks can.

Redhawk1,
Do they load easier than the crushrib sabots from Harvester? and can one get them in fifty packs without bullets?

Two Bears, I think they are just as easy to load as the crushrib sabots from Harvester, as far as do they come in a 50 pack without the bullets, I think you may need to contact them, I have not seen them listed for sale with just the sabots.

I am using the FFg. My buddy has switched to the same set up I am using, he is using the standard Encore M/L barrel and I am using the Pro-hunter. He is getting  just as good of results as I am.

I was in Wal-Mart today with a friend on our lunch break picking up some .30-30 ammo for him.  I saw that they had the 250 Super Glides there so I was going to pick up some to try.  HOLY COW!  They wanted twice what Midsouth is selling them for!  I couldn't believe it, I asked the clerk if they were marked correctly and he assured me that they were.  I'm going to check out our local Wally world at home and see if they have them marked the same.  I used to work with the sporting goods manager at another gunshop so I'll bring it to his attention if they are priced the same.

Walmart is out of reach on a lot of their stuff in the hunting section.

The klean bore primers are $8.00 in minnesota walmarts and you can pick them up for less than 4 dollars at any gun shop in minnesota.

The black powder substituts are way over priced too.

They will price match and I have done this to them  before just bring in a catalog or ad and they will do it.
