Support our troops
« on: September 25, 2006, 07:59:00 AM »
Every one here should check out and get involved in the Forum here about
"Supporting our Troops".... This forum should be at the top of the list
instead of at the bottom and also the top of all our list of priorities.
Our Soldiers are doing a great job Overseas and should have our
total support.. I do not care if you support the Mission they are on or not,
we should support them with all our Being.. We all enjoy our freedoms here,
and we should give back to them for what they give up for us.
I am typing this after just finding out that My Niece is in the hospital
from an accident concerning some sort of Chemical agent. Her Lungs are
Burned. She is in the Army and is not even 20 years old yet !
We all need to get off of our Butts and get involve in supporting
the brave men and women of our armed forces.. A little of your spare time
means an aweful lot to someone thousands of miles from home!!!

I will keep your niece in my prayers.  I know how hard it is to be involved in a war that is not well supported, being a Vietnam era vet.  Like the mission or not we do owe a debt to those who serve, and especially those who sacrifice like your niece.  Thanks for reminding us all.

I don't know about the rest of you but I have been supporting our troops with packages of special needs items for over a year. It is easy and cheep to send packages to the troops.
If you have someone or some groups with special needs just go to your local post office and get a "pre-paid box" and the customs reporting form. Load the box up, fill out the form and mail it to the APO for your friends in the military and they get it. It costs $8.50 for the box and postage. You can send almost anything. Our church group has been sending a box twice a month.

so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

....... being a Vietnam era vet.

Thanks for your service.

Being an active duty person myself, I have spent years in far off places living in a tent.  I served in the first Gulf war and the current one, and many operatioins in between.  The onlt thing that makes someone feel better than receiving a care package is going home.  It does not matter who sends the package, just that someone, some where is thinking about them.
