"Kenai" Classic
« on: September 25, 2006, 01:06:50 PM »
I've been pestering H&R/NEF, based on the success of the Buffalo Classic, to produce a "Kenai Classic";
 a stainless synthetic in .45-70, .35 Whelan and .444, probably with a 26-28" barrel.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Buy a target model and have the barrel sleeved.  I think Lee Shaver does this, www.egunsmith.com

I love the long barrels.  I have 2 buff classics.  One is at the smiths now having a rechamber to 45-120 and a 30 in brass (Dixie) scope added, plus some other cosmetic work.  The other one is waiting its turn.  Im thinking maybe a re chamber to 450No2 for that African experience.

As for calibers Id love some metrics like 9.3x62 or even better 9.3x 74R.  Some of the pre Nitro African calibers would be great too, like 500BPE; but thats just my tastes

It would be great if theyd listen, otherwise I'll keep the custom guys in business

 Edelweiss, please keep us informed about your Dixie scope. Possibilities there, ya know. Thanks.
