lining up your shroud...

Have any of you guys noticed that your shroud has a little slack in them??..meaning that if you tighten the barrel nut without  keeping the shroud lined up that your accuracy sucks..my DW's will shoot way left if I don'y keep the shroud straight....just a thought..

I have never noticed any kind of shroud misalignment in all the years I have shot Dan Wessons, nor have I ever heard of such.   I do have one 357 that does shoot left due to some misalignment somewhere.  I investigated to find that long ago there was a small batch from Monson that shot left.  If they were returned to the factory, they were fixed under warranty, but no one knows exactly what the problem was.  Of course the new factory would charge to fix the problem now. 

Is your gun a Monson 357?

I had a 357 that would progressivly shoot off to one side. The factory requalified the front face of frame and rear face of shroud. Usually clocking of the shroud is contained by the roll pin. Could it be that your roll pin is deformed?

Some intersting thoughts....I don't think the roll pin is damaged..It only happens with longer then 4in barrels..IE 6-8..

I have a small frame with a 6" barrel, and two 8" Supermags. I've never had a shroud jump around. I don't see how it's possible with the barrel nut tight. The Supermags have a roll pin that fits very tightly, and my small frame has a ball bearing. Maybe the shroud's frame-end isn't cut square? I'm guessing here.
