I do not like the survivor stock on my .223 Handi, as it is not very good for bench rest shooting. Its fine for prone shooting, but since it is rare that I shoot that way, I figured I would do a little stock swapping with my 45-70. I put the 45-70 stock on the .223, the .223 stock on my 12 gauge, and the 12 gauge stock on my 45-70. I had cut the 12 gauge stock into a straight grip, and reblued the shotgun. Well the blueing didnt last, it would rust if you even looked at it wrong. So I fixed it, along with the stock that went on the .223. Got some spray on bedliner from wally world and went to town. The .223 stock turned out looking just like synthetic,(as if that is a good thing) so it matched the tupperware fore end. That stuf is tough as nails also. A few things about it. One, it says to shake the can for 2 minutes. It doesnt mean 1, or 1.5 minutes, it means 2. If you dont, you will have this strange grey looking crap come out.(trust me
)
Two, make sure you clean whatever you are spraying real good with alcohol or similar stuff. Three, if you are spraying metal, make sure that you rough it up good. Ill be redoing the scatter gun at a later time.
