For years I have used h4831 in my 270's. It has always given me superb accuracy. when they firs introduced the short cut version I was afraid thet were going to do away with the regular. I would like to here from those who have made the switch what kind of differant performance they have found if any.

according to Hodgdon, they will give you exactly the same results. The short cut doesn't take up as much room so compressed loads are kinda passe'. I don't use a lot of it but I've switched and in the applications where I do use it, I can't tell any difference. I haven't Chronied any loads with the SC against what I was getting from the standard powder but a like charge of SC shoots to the same POI as the charge using standard.

I never switched, I just started using the SC. It gives me the accuracy I want (1.25" at 100 yards with this particular gun and bullet), and it meters very well, much nicer than powders with longer sticks.
