Reasonably priced 2X to 4X compact..

   I am fixing up a "truck gun"...my base is an NEF Versa-Pack  .22/.410..don't wan to sink a bunch of $$$ in it.

 I would like to find as compact as possible scope as I can in 2x-4X.

  Glass doesn't have to te crystal clear to edges,. beautiful finish etc..I really want two things; repeatability and ruggedness...because of it's riding in the truck..

   Anyu suggestions ? have you had success with any particular model you can recomend ?

Swift optics.  I've got a 2x on my .357 mag contender and it's a great scope.  Good optical quality, tough as he$$ and cheap.  I bought it for under $100.

They make rifle scopes too.  Lifetime warranty and, I think, US made.

I managed to bounce the gun on the scope and it still dead-on.  Dented an adjuster cap, but that's it.
