Dogless Traps???
« on: October 02, 2006, 01:19:37 PM »
I see a couple of companies make dogless traps, like KB Compound.  I haven't talked to anyone who has had any experience with them. If anybody does, what do you think? They are kind of spendy, just wondering if they are worth the money or if they are better than the rest.  Any takers?

If a tree falls in the woods and my wife is not there to hear it...is it still my fault?

I like dogless traps...but Montgomeries or their copy  Montana's.  These have been very reliable traps for me.

Try  a few out and see if you like them.  I have alot of Montgomerys and some Montanas and im very happy with them.  If you have any problems adjusting them , new or used, give us a holler and we will help you.  The Jake trap by J.C. Conners is also dogless and very-very good trap but you will pay for it also..

My personal favorite dogless trap is the Sterling MJ 600.Last night I got my hands on a KB 5.5.I was real impressed, very well constructed.I'm going to have to get some of these.I don't think the price is too bad either.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!

Figuring out how to adjust them takes a little bit of time but is easy to do. I don't own any dog-on coils anymore.

With dogless traps one will see a lot less toe tip catches and completer misses. When an animals springs a trap with a dog while standing partially on the dog and pan, the rising dog flips the animals foot upward while the jaws are closing resulting in toe tip holds or snapped traps and an educated canine. I used the Oberto dogless traps for 44 years and loved them. Ace
