What is the purpose
« on: April 14, 2003, 07:53:30 AM »
Hello all,
As some of you may know ,I have had a rough time of things since last summer when I suffered a heart attack. Now my darling wife has left me. I have always been a praying man but now it seems as if noone is listening. For the last several months I have been undergoing treatment for depression alth9ough I can't really tell that ti has had any effect. I guess that it is either time to try living or get busy dying and I haven't decided which way to go yet.
While I am here I would like to publicly thank I AM CAL for his friendship and all of his support. I have never met the man face to face but he has done more for me than some people I have known all of my life. If the world had more like him it would surely be a much better place to live. God Bless you my Friend, and I thank you

read your thoughts some time ago--been thinking about it.
well--tie a knot in the end of that rope--hang on-god knows the begenning from the end--think on him and he will see you thru to not just a better tomorrow, but to a better outcome --be as job--the lord always has a plan. it may not be revealed today-but remember the knot and hang in there.
blessings

Stay with us Larry,God knew all of this before you did. This could just be a trial to see how tempered the metal is. I personally know that God has delivered you once from your heart problems. He will do it again and again and again. In his word he promises to never leave us.Be still and know he is God,allow him to come in your life,he will come and handle all. I am still praying Larry.Your Friend,I am CAL....

Without the darkness, the light cannot be seen. I think of this often, when it seems Life has dealt me an unfair hand.
I think of my mother, who was twice imprisoned by the Gestapo for her activities in the Belgian Resistance in World War II. Mom died after a nine-year battle with cancer.
My problems pale in comparison to hers.
Her first husband, also a member of the Belgian Resistance, was not so lucky. He was captured by the Germans, thrown into Breendonk Torture Prison and endured unspeakable horrors.
He never broke, never gave up the names of other members. They know this because members of his Resistance group below him were ever caught. He was executed two weeks before D-Day.
My problems pale in comparison to him.
Every day, throughout the world, many people have no food, no shelter, no clean water, no opportunity to escape, no certainty they will be alive come the dawn. They hear the gunfire and screams in the night and wonder if they will be next.
My problems pale in comparison to theirs.
As long as you have your health, you have great wealth.
Get hold of yourself.
Forget suicide, as you have hinted. You will solve nothing. You will escape nothing. Suicides are not well-treated on the other side.
You will also harm those you love, but only for a short time. Life will go on for them. You won't be getting even with them.
Take long walks. Avoid alcohol. Eat healthy foods. I know it sounds trite but you will feel better. Don't expect immediate results, give it a few weeks.
You have value. You have worth. There are people who care about you. You can contribute something to this world. Pay compliments to others; it's the surest way of having others compliment you.
There are far worse roads to travel, my friend. Yours isn't an easy road but it's far from the worst. Think about that.

I am still hanging in there although things just keep getting worse. I just wanted to thank all of you for your concern and words of kindness. I know there are people in this world who are far worse off than I and sometimes I feel ashamed but I have lost everything in this world that meant anything to me.True, there are those who have lost more and I wish more than anything that I could find the strength and salvation that I so desperately seek. Whatever happens in my life I will continue to fight and I will try to find the peace that I so desire. Thank you all for caring.

Larry,
I wanted you to know I praying for you and to let you know God is still there and will see you through this.

All I can say from experence is my Wife and I lost a son, that was painful, and difficult time but we got through that with God's help, we are now stronger and more accepting of things that happen around us. As you will  in time.

God does not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear.

Hang in there!  Hold on to that rope, it won't break!

Ga,
