Lost a Real Good Friend
« on: October 15, 2011, 12:49:32 PM »
I lost a real good friend last week. The two of us met in San Antonio at Ft. Sam Houston back in 2008 when we attended BNCOC. We had similar interests and upbringings and both enjoyed hunting. He was an archer from Ohio and was a knowledgeable, ethical hunter. He had a few trophies at home, but always passed on long, difficult shots. He was more about quality than quantity.

Here's his story and few pics of him at work.

RIP soldier, you're home now!  :'( :'(

Sorry to hear that Dinny. Sounds like a good man on a mission. Now he can rest.

Thanks Lonny, you're exactly right. A very good man!

That's him, comforting a Marine wounded in Marja, Afg almost two years ago when he was last deployed. I actually ran into him at Kandahar Air Field that year. It was a blessed reunion!

Thanks, Dinny

:'( I wish there was something to say that didn't sound so feeble and would properly express the thanks we owe to guys like this and their families, but there just seems to be nothing worthy. :'(  My sympathies. :'(

Dinny,

Only God knows how each of us grieves in the loss of a fellow warrior and for their loved ones left behind.  Keeping their memory alive is a good start.  How many lives he touched, where those "seeds" were planted, no one can say.  I hope that his mission on this Earth was fulfilled.

Thanks for the post Dinny.

Sorry to hear about the loss of another good American, your friend, and for keeping the real cost of freedom in front of us.

Thanks guys!

He was a great Medic and an even better husband and father. His wife and their three boys are very distraught about his death. I'm sending flowers and a few words to express my condolences. As was said before, there's not too much to say that will dull the pain. :'(

Thanks, Dinny
